About us

The Ad Arte Foundation was created in 2003 and since its beginning it has specialised in short films. Since 2009 the Foundation has organised the Short Waves Festival which is its biggest project and core of its activities. It operates at the intersection of film, art and music. The foundation provides its audience constant access to unconventional cultural events such as film screenings with exceptional audiovisuals, exhibitions and workshops.
Apart from the Short Waves Festival, the Ad Arte Foundation realises such projects as Film City, Film Autumn, Weekly — urban film screenings and industry events under the sign of Poznań ID. For 10 years the foundation has organized screenings of Future Shorts in Poland. Since 2020, the Ad Arte Foundation is part of the international KineDok network aimed at popularizing full-length documentaries. The project was initiated by the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) in Prague.
One of the main activities of the Foundation is distribution of short films in Poland and abroad. Thanks to the cooperation with numerous partners, the Foundation organises several hundred screenings a year.
The Foundation Ad Arte largely relies on the cooperation with such partners as: the City of Poznań, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the Polish Film Institute.
